时态（shi2tai4）tense

1. 过去时 (guo4 qu4 shi2) : past tense

verb + 了（le）: did
e.g. 我吃了。 （wo3 chi1 le） I ate.

2. 现在时（xian4 zai4 shi2）: current tense

正在(zheng4 zai4) + verb : doing

3. 将来时（jiang1 lai2 shi2）: future tense

会（hui4） + verb : be able to do/ will do
要（yao4）+ verb : want to do/ will do

e.g. 我要吃。 (wo3 yao4 chi1.) I want to eat / I will eat.

我会吃。 (wo3 hui4 chi1.) I will eat / I know how to eat (something).
